Eileen Michaels, MPH, MBA
Eileen Michaels has 30 years of healthcare leadership experience and brings with her a diverse background in healthcare management, physician recruiting, strategic planning, marketing, and public relations. Eileen has consulted to academic medical centers, community hospitals and national and regional medical providers across the United States. Since 2006, Eileen has been the owner of Harris Brand Recruiting, a physician placement firm serving for profit and not-for-profit medical groups, hospitals, federally qualified community health centers, health plans and other health care organizations.
Eileen began her career in healthcare at the US Public Health Service Hospital in Staten Island, then served as Assistant Director of Modernization Programs for the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. In the Albany, New York, Capital Region, Eileen served as Director of Practice Development and as Chief Marketing and Public Relations Officer for a 1,000-employee private, multi-specialty medical group. In her previous role as Capital Region Operations Manager for Community Health Plan (CHP) and then Kaiser Permanente, she directed a five-county workforce of more than 1,200 multi-specialty practice employees providing a full scope of primary and specialty ambulatory, urgent care and surgical services across the region.
Eileen has a longstanding commitment to improving access to healthcare services, advancing public health, and gender equity.. She served on the National Community Committee of the Centers For Disease Control, Prevention Research Centers and on the Community Advisory Board of the State University of New York at Albany School of Public Health Prevention Research Center. She has been an active leader and Chairperson of numerous non-profit boards including The Capital Region Medical Research Foundation where she later served as executive director. Eileen also served on the Gender Equity Task Force of the American Medical Women’s Association. Eileen is frequently invited to speak before professional and other groups on a wide range of health care profession and career transition topics.
Eileen earned a BS Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University, a Masters in Business Administration Degree and a Masters in Public Health Degree at Columbia University. Her deep experience and interests in health care management, public health and gender equity continue to drive her passion and her career, which has been dedicated to improving access to high quality healthcare services in every community she serves.
